Entry: This is such a great area to live in!! We are surrounded by an abundance of lakes and summer time is the greatest!! Cabin at Babine Lake provides great outdoor fun in the summer - from swimming to cliff diving!!

Entry: Have lived in Houston for the better part of 55 years. From 350 pop. to almost 5000 at one time. This is a community that plays together and slaves together. From celebrating our great outdoors to raising $100000. in the relay for life. Most of the challenges our met head on with great results.When things need doing--this community gets going. We appreciate the past and embrace the future as is evident in establishing a museum along Highway 16 to our Outdoor Theatre in Jamie Baxter Park. Most outdoor activities are at close at hand and are embraced by all.Houston is the best.

Entry: Canfor knocks down beehive burner in an effort to becoming a greener company. Waste material is now being using more efficiently to create heat for the kilns and wood pellet production.

Entry: This year in basketball we are all playing senior girls.That is usually supposed to be only grade 11 and 12 but your are allowed to play up a grade.so this seneior girls team is from grades 8 to 12.It's hard for the girls in grade 8 but we still have fun.We will have a great year...hopefully.Can't wait for a great year!

Entry: Ok everyone I am going to tell u about our School and the sports we play.Recently our grade 11-12 volleyball team had won a provincial banner! Now we have a junior basketball team for grade 7/8, Our grade 7/8 team has two games on saturday. We also have a grade 9-10 girls basketball team.Wish us luck please thanks!

Horse Riding!

Entry: In the summer I would ride my horse with a bunch of my friends, on their own horses . We would have a GREAT time! We'd race, jump and swim. The best way to spend a day! Riding with all my friends, telling jokes, laughing and talking.
When some one would fall off everyone else would help them up and encourage them to get back on and have a good time. One time we went riding everywhere on a beautiful day and it ended pouring rain. We took shelter at my friends house, put the horses in the barn and waited the rain out, which was like 3 HOURS! One of my favorite memories!

Walking in the Snow

Entry: About a week ago, it was snowing.Like it usually does in Houston.It was so nice outside so we went for a walk.it was at night but it was snowing and it was just so gorgeous!It was nice to see God's creation falling all around us!it was so nice we went for a second walk that night.I just loved seeing the snow fall all around me! So that could be a typical night in Houston.

Entry: this year in hockey i will be going to the northen winter games in prince rupert with my team. we beat smithers in a best out of 3 series 2-0 to get to go. i went last year when it was in mckenzie and we o9nce again had to beat smithers and we did 2-0 in a best out of 3 series.

Pitch in day

Entry: Every year,once a year my school has a pitch-in-day.We go in our classes at certain times of the day, we grab a partner,a bag to share, and a glove for each of us.Depending on our grade level we go to a certain spots to pick garbage for a while. It's really quite fun and almost like a competition against other partners, but in a fun way.I enjoy doing this for a couple reasons: we get out of school for a bit, have fun trying to get the most and biggest garbage into our bags and most importantly, I know that I'm cleaning God's world and helping our town.

Entry: I snowmobile every weekend and ride a 1983 or84 250 but it can go anywhere, will the help of a 900 polaris with a 166" track to help it out up on morris mtn. but i can make it up the meadows, grouse mtn. mcquary lake , wilson lake, summit lake , hidden lake and some more because those r just off the top of my head my snowmobile needs a tiny bit of work because the steering is freezing up so i have to lean to turn

Entry: This year in school we had a junior girls volleyball team.Which is grade 9 and 10 and a few grade eighters.We had a really good season playing some really good teams.We had so much fun playing them and having a close match!At the end of the year we went to single girls 'B' zones in Terrace.We played some good teams and we had an awesome time!We stayed over night and it was just so much fun!We were in the finals against Ebenezer Canadian Reformed School.It went to three sets and Houston Christian won in the final set!It was so exhilarating!
We were super excited.We came home with a win and our school was really excited!

Entry: Hockey in Houston is great! There is more than one way to play too. You can play floor hockey, minor hockey and other types of hockey. It is my favorite sport. I like to play almost everyday at school during lunch period. 45 minutes of pure fun. Friendly smiles and laughing at everything makes it a great way to have fun and get exercise. EH' O CANADA GO!!

Microwave

Entry: Every winter my family goes sledding at the Microwave. It is a hill that is on Mount Harry Davis and I'm sure everyone in town goes sledding on it. When we go up there there is usually one or two more families already there. It is quite a popular hill and it's godd if you want a fast ride or slow because you can sled down the road also.

Hockey

Entry: I play hockey and our team this year is okay our record is 2-3 or3-3 i am not sure. our last 3 games have been as following the first was terrrible and we lost 9-2 our second game was a bit better but we lost 7-4 in this game i played goal (i am a goalie and was backing up the other game). in the most recent game we won 6 or 7-0 and i played half a game.

Entry: Houston has many churches in which some offer youth activities. Houston Baptist Church has youth on wednesday nights from 7 til 9 for grades 7-12. They also have friday night drop-in at the church for grades 7-12 and the first friday of every month they have Club 456 for kids grades 4,5,and 6 and it's a high energy place for kids to come and have fun in the Houston Christian School gym. I have made many friends attending the events and have experienced people meeting God and giving their lives to him.
